USA, Canada and Central America:
When travelling to far away destinations, such as the USA or Canada, it is important for you to be aware of what your checked baggage allowances are and whether it applies to all or just a portion of your trip.
Although most carriers now provide 2 complimentary checked bags at 23kg each, sometimes if you stop over along the way (i.e. stay a few nights in Los Angeles before travelling onward to New Orleans), and even though your flight from Australia to Los Angeles included those two bags, airlines such as Delta and American Airlines will often only include the one checked bag for the internal flight.
This leaves you to pay up to $50 extra per bag so you can get on to your through flight. This can turn in to a major inconvenience, especially on your final leg at the end of a long trip. If unsure, feel free to speak with one of our agents, who will be happy to assist you.
